It is with great honour, a profound sense of responsibility, and genuine personal joy that I welcome you to Green Hope University — an institution born from a single conviction: that education is the most powerful force available to rebuild our beloved Somalia.
Education is the most powerful tool we can give to the people of Somalia. At Green Hope University, we do not merely teach; we inspire, we build, and we serve our nation one graduate at a time.

Our Story Born From a National Need
When Green Hope University was founded in 2006, Somalia was at a critical juncture in its history. Our nation had endured decades of conflict, and the need for credible, accessible, high-quality higher education had never been more urgent. It was in that context and with that sense of national purpose that Green Hope University was established.
Today, nearly two decades later, we stand as one of Somalia’s most trusted private universities accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education, and holding a strategic academic partnership with Kesmonds International University. Our 3,105+ graduates are living proof that when education meets purpose, remarkable things happen.

To Every Student Who Joins Us
To every student who walks through our doors, whether in Mogadishu, Beledweyne, Garowe, or Qardho, I say this clearly and sincerely: you are not simply pursuing a degree. You are answering a call. A call to serve your nation, your community, your family, and your faith. Green Hope University exists to equip you for that call.
We will provide you with exceptional lecturers, modern facilities, internationally recognised qualifications, and a campus environment that nurtures both your intellect and your character. We will challenge you, support you, and celebrate you from your first day of orientation to the moment you cross the graduation stage.

As your President, I make this commitment without reservation: Green Hope University will continue to invest in world-class faculty, modern academic infrastructure, expanded international partnerships, and student welfare programs. We are not satisfied with where we are; we are driven by where Somalia needs us to be.
We will continue to grow our campuses, expand our faculties, and deepen our research impact. And we will not rest until every Somali student who seeks quality higher education has a credible, accessible path to it.
A Personal Invitation
I personally invite you, students, parents, faculty, partners, employers, and all who believe in Somalia’s future, to be part of the Green Hope story. This is not my university. It belongs to Somalia. And together, we are rebuilding it, through education, one graduate at a time.
May Allah bless our efforts, guide our students, and grant this great nation the peace and prosperity it deserves.
