GHU runs three intakes every year August, January, and May. Plan your studies, know your key dates, and stay on track from enrolment to graduation.
Applications are open year-round for all three intakes.
Academic Year Structure
How the GHU Academic Year Works
GHU operates on a trimester system with three intakes per year. Each intake follows the same structured sequence from orientation through to examinations and results. This means there is no long wait between applying and starting your studies.
Submit your documents to the admissions office at any GHU campus. Pay registration fee and complete enrolment. Receive your student ID and programme confirmation.
Campus tour, faculty introductions, library induction, Student Union welcome, and academic briefing. All new students are expected to attend.
Regular classes, lectures, seminars, lab sessions, and home assignments. Class discussions and debates form a core part of each week. Students lead their own learning both on and off campus.
End-of-semester examinations and assessment submissions. Specific examination timetables are issued by each faculty at least two weeks in advance.
The second semester follows the same structure — lectures, labs, seminars, assignments, and active student-led learning across all faculties and campuses.
Final semester examinations and major assessment submissions. Faculty examination timetables are published in advance. Results are processed and released within two weeks of completion.
Results are released, students progress to the next year of study, and final-year students are confirmed for graduation. The annual graduation ceremony celebrates GHU’s newest graduates.
