Scholarship
Green Hope University is committed to making quality higher education accessible by providing scholarship opportunities that support talented, hardworking, and deserving students in achieving their academic and professional goals.
Academics
GHU Scholarship Programme
Financial circumstances should never determine who gets a quality education. GHU’s scholarship programme exists so that every deserving student in Somalia has a real path to a fully accredited university degree.
Why We Do This
Education Is a Right. Not a Privilege.
Green Hope University was founded on a simple belief: that every Somali student who has the talent and the drive to succeed deserves the opportunity to do so regardless of their family’s financial situation.
Somalia’s future depends on its educated workforce. Every engineer, doctor, public administrator, and business leader this country needs will come from its universities and GHU is committed to making sure the most deserving students are never locked out by cost alone.
The GHU Student Union also independently provides welfare and financial support to students from households that cannot afford tuition, so there are multiple paths to getting the support you need.
How It Works
Three Steps to Your Scholarship
The process is straightforward. Fill in the online form, submit your details, and the GHU scholarships team will review your application and follow up with you directly.

Successful applicants will be contacted directly by the GHU admissions team with the outcome and next steps for enrolment. Your education journey begins here.
Who Can Apply
Scholarship Eligibility
The scholarship programme is open to all Somali nationals who meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen undergraduate or postgraduate programme at GHU.
Scholarships are awarded primarily on financial need. Applicants from low-income households or who are unable to afford tuition fees are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate a genuine commitment to their studies and to contributing to their communities after graduation. GHU looks for motivated students ready to make a difference.
Whether you are applying to join GHU for the first time or are already enrolled and facing financial difficulty, you are welcome to apply through the scholarship portal.
Additional Support
The GHU Student Union Financial Support
The GHU Student Union operates independently from the university’s administration and has its own governance structure. Beyond representing students and resolving internal issues, the Union actively provides welfare and financial support to students from low-income households who cannot afford tuition.
If you are already enrolled at GHU and are facing financial hardship, reach out to the Student Union directly — they exist specifically to help students in this situation.
Apply anyway. The scholarship team reviews every application individually — there is no cost to applying and no reason not to try.
