Students
Orientation Week
Your GHU journey begins before your first lecture. Orientation Week is where you meet your community, learn your campus, and set yourself up for a successful university experience.
What to Expect
Your First Week at GHU
Orientation Week takes place at the start of each intake August, January, and May. It is designed to help every new student feel confident, connected, and ready before their academic programme begins.
Complete your official enrolment, collect your student ID, and meet the admissions and academic teams who will support you throughout your studies.
Explore your campus — the libraries, computer labs, medical facilities, lecture halls, and student spaces. Know where everything is before your first day of class.
Be introduced to your faculty dean, lecturers, and academic advisors. Understand your programme structure, assessment methods, and academic expectations from day one.
Learn how to access the e-library, physical library, and research databases. Get set up with your student login and understand how to make the most of GHU’s learning resources.
Meet the GHU Student Union — your independent representative body. Learn about the support they offer, how to get involved, and how to access welfare assistance if you need it.
Understand GHU’s code of conduct, academic integrity policy, and student rights — plus how to access support services, report concerns, and make the most of your time on campus.
When It Happens
Three Orientation Weeks Per Year
The main annual intake. Orientation takes place in the week before the first week of classes. All new students — undergraduate and postgraduate — are expected to attend.
Orientation for January intake students follows the same full programme — campus tour, faculty introductions, library induction, and Student Union welcome.
May intake students receive a dedicated orientation programme tailored to their start date — ensuring every new student gets the same strong start regardless of when they join.
